Gravity is a constant. It exists beneath every ordinary movement, but most of the time we stop noticing it because we learn to adjust to it. Birds still fly. We continue through our lives the same way, making constant adjustments without needing to think about them anymore.
This painting grew from that idea. Gold leaf birds move across a sky filled with light, atmosphere, and shifting clouds. The painting is not about escaping gravity, but about continuing anyway and finding lift while its pull remains.
The surface was built through many underlying paint layers before the final image emerged, allowing texture, depth, and bits of earlier history to remain visible throughout the painting.
Even with Gravity.
