Into the Field, Hay Bales holds the wide skies, dry grasses, and fields beginning to turn gold that feel deeply familiar across southern Idaho.
There’s quiet here, but not complete stillness. The hay bales suggest work already done, long days spent in the fields, while the season itself continues steadily toward its close. The people and machinery are absent for the moment, leaving behind a brief pause inside the larger cycle of motion and labor.
More than anything, this painting is about that temporary settling. The land, the fields, and the energy that moved through them, all are paused for a moment before continuing on.
This piece was later selected by the Magic Valley Arts Council for reproduction as part of a public art installation in Twin Falls.
